sweet child of mine

I had the chance to shoot this lovely couple recently...loved how they turned out! The little one was born in September and I will get to meet her soon and take her picture! I LOVED the sky this day..so blue and perfect. I stopped on the way back and took just some sky pics!

sister

Whoa. It's been too long. This summer flew by and things got crazy at work. Lo siento!

I've been busy lately scanning old pics for some family Christmas gifts, and I stumbled upon some gems!

Like this one:

that would be me. :)

But THIS is my favorite favorite..

I love it for a lot of reasons. It's similar to pictures we take now, laughing and smiling. But it reminds me that Jacey and I have this sacred, secret sister bond...that no one else has with us (I'm not saying you're not bonded with your siblings...promise!). Just saying that I am glad for my sister, and glad that we've had this connection since birth! I was listening to the Avett Brothers one of my favorite bands...and they have this line..

..make sure my sister knows I love her...make sure my mother knows the same...always remember there is
nothing worth sharing like the love that let us share our name...

Love it. And love you, sister!

Ladies and Gentleman, a Real Post!

First of all, a thank you! 2 people posted a link to my blog from their blog this week! So, if you are passing through because of them, welcome! Feel free to check out my pictures, and if you're interested in hiring me, please contact me. I would love to chat with you!

My sister is amazing. In lots of ways. One of those is because of her amazing crafting skills. She has a blog (see above shoutout) and here it is, my seeeester! She really is a fantastic person, and I'm just lucky that she happens to be my only sister. Because if there were another one, it would be hard to pick a favorite.

Also, I've had the priviledge to shoot with Rob Milton! He is a photographer based in Katy (but will travel!) who has let me hang out with him, carry lights as well as other assorted photography loveliness, and shoot away to my hearts content. I've learned lots from him already, and already have 2 more weddings to come. Yay, Rob! Seriously, he is amazingly talented and you should check his stuff out.

Okay, enough gratitude... :)

I had the chance to attend a very special graduation last week! You may remember this family. Well, their sweet Vivian graduated from preschool! I know, they grow up so fast. I love this kiddo for lots of reasons. But, I really love that she always is excited to see me. She had lots of people there cheering her on..
See, I told you...a whole row!

And even though she had this whole row, she was still SO EXCITED that I came to see her. She is just a kiddo full of love and joy, and I am proud of her. Can't wait for more graduations and milestones. I will probably be there, with a camera!

ridiculously cute, right?!

Alright, that's all for tonight. Again, check out the blogs I linked to! I'm excited about several opportunities coming up (a wedding, more roller derby-ness, and a new piece of furniture!). Oh, just wait:)

new friends!

i met steve and dottie through my love, ryan. they are his dear friends and i can totally see why! i met steve about a month ago, and then recently got to meet his sweet wife. of course i asked to take their pictures while they were in galveston, and here are some of my faves!

while we were on the strand, we saw this. i thought it was a pretty poignant moment as we realized how high the water was during ike. steve is a pretty tall dude, and its clearly over his head.

it really was a pleasure to hang out with them both!
im excited that they are part of my life now!

i had the opportunity recently to take some pictures for a friend of mine, who also happens to be a lawyer. he and his firm are working on a website to help people set up their wills (you should check it out, here...http://www.wildwestwills.com/)

so as part of this favor, i got to walk around downtown one afternoon, and take 'cool, artsy' pics of whatever i wanted...things that looked legal. i saw this:

and thought, yes.

i just thought it was interesting that the letters are placed so that the person INSIDE the office sees 'lawyer'. those walking by see 'reywal'. just in case you forget what you do. you are a lawyer.

seriously, it was a cool experience and i loved the opportunity!

christmas

this is one of my favorite tilly pictures from christmas. we had 2 other dogs at my house the day after christmas, and tilly generally does well with other pups...but she does have some only child tendencies. which is why i love this pic. i dont know if you can tell, but she has a rawhide in her mouth, but her foot is firmly placed on her raccoon toy.

just in case anyone got any ideas.
